A Tree Grows in South Dakota
Let's just say that the beauty of East River South Dakota is... subtle. It's also very peaceful. That's why there's so much padding on each side of the road. :-D
This photo was taken by Orlando Medina, one of my spiritual brothers. I am hosting this photo for him because he's a busy college student dealing with finals right now as well as his spiritual responsibilities as a ministerial servant. He came to South Dakota in 2005 to work unassigned territory in the rural areas of our countryside.
Needless to say, when Orlando visited SD, he noticed there aren't a whole lot of trees here. They have a lot more trees in Wisconsin where he lives than we do in the Rushmore State! In fact, I'm pretty sure that there's more than just that one tree that grows in Brooklyn, too. ('cause I've been there, I know.)
Orlando took this shot with his Olympus D540 somewhere in Minnehaha County, close to the Minnesota border. I did a little post processing in iPhoto, but not a whole lot. I may have to give this back to him one day. :-D

You'll find the rest of Orlando's South Dakota photos in the August 2005 archives of his blog: Digital Raven's Blog about half-way down the page.
