Sgurr Mhairi (Glamaig)

    Newer Older

Ive been trying to find out what these mountains are called and i think the big one on the left of the picture is called Sgurr Mhairi (Glamaig). it is in Sligachan Bay on the Isle Of Skye facing Loch Sligachan. It is 2543 ft high. This picture was taken from a layby on the A87 coming from Portree. Sgurr Mhairi apparently means Greedy woman and may also be known as Mary's peak (Unless i am mistaking what i read on the web page.) It is a Corbett which generally means any separate mountain peak between 2500 feet and 3000 feet high. If i am incorrect about the name id be happy to change it if anyone knows better :-)
