    La baie de Saint-Jean-de-Luz et de Ciboure est la seule rade abritée entre Arcachon et l’Espagne. Entre la colline Sainte-Barbe et le Fort Socoa 3 digues permettent à Saint-Jean-de-Luz de se protéger des caprices de l'océan. La digue de Sainte-Barbe (180m), la digue de l'Artha (250m), digue centrale et la digue de Socoa (325m).
