FOOD & NOURISHMENT

~ Sindy Mils
"I wish for your help to create a strong, sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity.”

I love to cook. I subscribe to the Weston A Price philosophy, that food should be real and non-processed. I use pastured or wild meats, free-range woodland chickens and their eggs, wild fish, organic vegetables, fruits, and raw organic dairy. I also use butter and naturally rendered fats like lard and duck fat. For more of Price's philosophy, see www.westonaprice.org/splash_2.htm
We garden, and grow many of our organic vegetables and some of our fruit. We also forage for wild foods. We raise chickens for eggs and meat. We also raise ducks and turkeys for meat. We buy beef, lamb, pork and dairy from local farmers we trust. And from these farmers also come treats like local maple syrup and honey.
More recently, I have learned how to make and use herbal medicines. This is simply an extension of using foods as medicine. It must be working, as we are retired and still free of pharmaceuticals.
