Summer on Stage 2018 // Production images - Us & Them and Antigone
This double bill is a culmination of three of our Summer On Stage 2018 projects which has seen over 60 young people come together to develop and produce these two pieces of theatre in just 2 and 3 weeks respectively.

We're delighted to present:

Us & Them
by David Campton

A wall divides us. A wall divides them.

Two groups of wanderers enter, looking for a place to settle. They agree to share a space and mark the line between their territories, but as time passes, suspicion grows. The line becomes a fence, the fence then becomes a wall, built higher and higher. Can they live together or will the mistrust grow to the point of conflict?

Antigone
by Sophocles
Translated by E. F. Watling

"Still the same tempest in the heart
Torments her soul with angry gusts"

Returning to Thebes after the death of their father, Antigone and her sister Ismene intend to help their two brothers avoid a prophecy that predicts they will kill each other in a battle for the throne of Thebes. On arrival, Antigone discovers that both are already dead, but that only one has been given a proper burial.
