Homemade magnets for freezer inventory

To keep track of what's in my freezer, I took a tip from a book on freezing and made magnets out of the weekly supermarket advertising pages and a magnet sheet (or old cheap refrigerator magnets). This also helps me track what I've pre-made and frozen in individual portions for speedy lunch prep. Magnet assembly view here, full blog entry here.

What a brilliant idea, Biggie! I think I'll work on it this Easter weekend! Thanks for the wonderful tip!

That's such a good idea. It's always hard to tell whats what sometimes. And digging in the freezer is no fun.

That is an amazing idea. My wife and I so need to implement something like this to know what we are out of in the frige/freezer or pantry.

I love this idea. I went to various supermarket websites and copied photographs of food that I often have in the fridge or freezer. Then I printed them onto sticky labels, stuck them on to magnetic sheets and cut round them. They don't stick to my fridge very well (maybe my magnetic sheets aren't as good as yours).
However, I also bought some of the sticky-back magnetic tape and used these to turn some of my mini moo-cards into fridge magnets. They stick really well. So I might make some moo cards with photos of food and make magnets. That way I can photograph whatever I want.

Photo says taken in 1980, but I'm betting that's bad EXIF. First comment is from five years ago which is probably more accurate.

In hindsight, how well has this worked out for you? My kids are constantly moving the magnets on my fridge. I don't think I could use this.
