Lunch for first day of preschool

Newer Older

It's too brown for my liking, but all the food in it was specially requested by my son for his first day of preschool. Full entry with inarizushi freezing instructions, frozen fish fillet review, oshibori info, and lunch details is here at the Lunch in a Box speedy lunch packing blog.

where did you find molds small enough to do quail eggs???? too cute!
can you do canned quail eggs or just fresh?

natesgirl> I got a combo quail/chicken egg mold on eBay (Tokyo Gift???) last year: www.flickr.com/photos/lunchinabox/288070254/in/set-721575... I use fresh as I haven't found any canned quail eggs that I like (my son spits the canned ones out, even though he devours the fresh). So far my experience with canned is that they have a terrible rubbery texture, unpleasant to eat.

cecilnhou2> His first day was okay (after 20 minutes of crying), second day was very sad, but third through fifth day were much better! Now he smiles when I drop him off and pick him up -- hooray!
