A Bison Is Not A Buffalo

51 Bison shot and left to rot in the sun after wandering onto an adjoining ranch. Or wait, maybe they're buffalo? No they're definitely bison, because it happened in Texas, and not Thailand. We just like to call them buffalo.

Anyway, the story is messed up, and it reawakened an ongoing dispute with my Buffalonian-born girlfriend about proper terminology. Of course, she can't be objective, so I drew this up for educational reasons.

p.s. "Buffalonian" meaning she's from Buffalo, NY, not birthed by a buffalo. Though sometimes one wonders.

p.p.s. further update: Buffalo isn't even named after bisonuffalos, apparently it's an americanization of the french "beau fleuve" meaning beautiful river.
