Maxwell Montes, Venus

This Magellan stereo view of Venus shows the northwestern flank of Maxwell Montes. Maxwell Montes is roughly 12 km high and is the highest mountain range on Venus. The eastern flank of Maxwell Montes slopes gently, but the western flank, part of which is shown here, consists of a number of steep cliffs and dropoffs.
