NY Compost Box project
Helping to make composting 'second nature' in NYC.

Those ubiquitous newspaper boxes that have lain dormant with the rise of the web have found new life – literally. The New York Compost Box Project is an urban intervention offering another way for New Yorkers to divert food waste from landfills and raise awareness about composting in the city.

It's simple! Just deposit food scraps into one of the buckets inside the box! It will be turned into a a nutrient-rich soil amendment to be used locally in community gardens, street tree beds or on household plants!
