The Great Galactic Column

The central area of the Milky Way rising above the horizon. Scorpius and Sagitarius are visible including the Lagoon (M8) and Triffid (M20) nebulas, and several open clusters.

The dark lanes of dust that occult parts of the Milky Way are clearly visible including the great central rift and the pipe nebula.
