As she was a new face, I simply had to take a Polaroid. This Polaroid. And oh the fun we had with that, as she hadn't seen a Polaroid in action for quite awhile. We stood above it, watching the image fade in, me whispering "see what develops," knowing she wouldn't recognize that I was straight stealing Polaroid's tagline from the 90s. 80s?
Frankly, I'd forgotten. Forgotten that part of shooting Polaroid, that part where you and the subject both watch the not-actually-instant photo, watch the development process occur. Watch a bit of actual photographic magic.
That slight delay, that exhibition of science. Can't (yet) be duplicated.
