Scott Shady Court Motel

Once I finished the northern routing of the Lincoln Hwy (from San Francisco to Sacramento, and Sacramento to Reno), I headed out of Reno and up to Winnemucca, with my final destination being Nampa, ID to visit with Roadsidepictures.

Before I left Alameda, Devil Doll suggested I stay here, and man was she spot on! Great place, great rate, and great signs!

The place was built in 1928, the building we were in was built in 1949 (and the furniture looked original), and the office added on in 1960. What a great motel! If you're ever in Winnemucca and need a motel, try this. The rooms are small, it's old fashioned, but it's great. Honest! If you're one that has to have all the amenities of a boring old chain motel, then you might not like it (and I feel sorry for you), but if you really want the old road experience, you'll love it.

Bonus... it's clean as a whistle!

See today's blog post about the trip.
