Morning Shadow Play

Remembering my mom. August is her birthday month. She loved hummingbirds, and she was blessed with amazing energy, always about double what I had. The hummingbird came to be a metaphor for her beauty and her energy and her loveliness. I gave her a crystal hummingbird vase, and now have it, after she died. One morning, around her birthday, the sun was making this glorious early morning shadow on the wall, of the hummingbird from the vase. I just loved the image--such a gift, mesmerized by it for the moments it lasted. Felt like the shadow was an echo of my mom-- fleeting and beautiful - and only a shadow. So this image has special meaning for me, even if it's not the greatest photograpically-- I simply can't tell. Another more minimalist image in the first comment below- and just prior in my photostream.
I also really liked the textures in the shadow- having just explored looking for textures when shooting.
No need to comment, just returned from my NC vacation. Getting settled at work, and new computer-- but much time yet to get it all configured and get time to comment-- sorry- a bit side-lined but I am back to having internet access.
