Baby Hepburn aka Gatta Corbata
Gatta, as shes known around the house, is a cat I rescued off the streets of Buenos Aires. There are thousands of pets on the street here and many of them live, mostly well fed, at the botanical gardens by my house. I would almost daily walk my dog around the gated gardens so she could look at or interact with the cats. We had a cat in Portland that we both missed allot. One day while sitting on the sidewalk petting a cat that loved Chena, a woman walked up to me and asked if I wanted to adopt her. I told her I didn't know how long I would live here but at least 6 more months. She talked me into taking her home and trying to bring her back to the US with me. She only understood Spanish, and it takes me forever to pick names for pets, so she was called gatta for the first few months, and now comes to that as her name. I picked her formal name Baby Hepburn after one of my favorite movies, Bringing up Baby, starring Katherine Hepburn and her pet leopard, Baby. . She reminds me of Hepburn in this movie because of her constant talking and erratic outbursts of energy. Shes about 10 months old now and very affectionate and communicative. When I first got her she was deathly afraid of other people but now shes pretty much everyones friend.
