Barry Island Glamorgan Wales 13th October 1968

The view looking south from the tender of British Railways Standard 4 2-6-0 76017 (its chimney on left) across a sea of withdrawn steam engines in Woodham's scrapyard as a 4-car diesel multiple unit crosses the causeway in the distance with a service to Barry Island.

In the foreground is Southern Railway Q class 0-6-0 30541 now preserved at the Bluebell Railway. In front of 76017 is a Standard 9F 2-10-0 and there are 2 Standard 4 2-6-4T on the right and at least 3 Bulleid Pacifics in view.
