Wetton Staffordshire February 1970

Taken from the flank of Wetton Hill looking to the northeast. The snow covered hill in the distance is Longnor Hill. The road in the centre joins the Hulme End-Alstonefield road in the trees centre-right. The caravan park on Beresford Lane can be seen in the left distance although I can't imagine anyone caravanning in February.

The road drops off the Lower Carboniferous limestone plateau on the right into the lower lying land on the left where the Upper Carboniferous Namurian Ecton Shales outcrop. Lognor Hill is formed from more resistant younger Namurian Sandstones.
