Manchester Victoria 8th June 1968
Manchester Victoria station and Black 5 4-6-0 45076 stands on the banker's road waiting to give a push to the next freight train up the bank to Miles Platting.
The atmosphere of a large city station with steam still a daily reality. Notice the tender steam heating valve joint is blowing & also the very large pieces of coal thrown on the track. Obviously the firemen could not be bothered to break them up with his coal pick.
