Lincoln Central Station 26th October 2007
Freightliner Class 66 66622 on the westbound 6M00 1123 Humber to Kingsbury oil tanks (probably!) stops all traffic on Lincoln's High Street as it flashes past - too fast for my auto shutter speed I'm afraid as it was very overcast.
That interesting extention to High Street signal box seems to be there to allow the signalman a better view of the street traffic before he drops the barriers.
I have just been looking at a b/w photo of ex-GCR Immingham class 4-6-0 6104 blasting across the same crossing in the 1930s. I know which I prefer!
