The ocean was unusually calm all weekend and this morning it was like the surface of a lake. Even at high tide a half hour before sunup, there were barely any waves breaking along the shore, the water meeting the land with a gentle rolling rhythm. The sky was mostly devoid of clouds but these clouds caught some of the short-lived dawn color before evaporating into the ether. I was glad to capture them before they disappeared altogether.
