NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission designed, built and flown by Lockheed Martin, successfully returned a sample of asteroid Bennu Sept. 24, 2023. Scientists hope the sample will tell us more about the building blocks of life in our solar system and how the planets may have formed. Following return of the sample, OSIRIS-REx was officially named OSIRIS-APEX and is now headed on its way to study asteroid Apophis.
