Grenada is called The Spice Isle because it is a leading producer of several different spices, notably nutmeg, providing 20% of the world supply.
Tourism is Grenada's main economic force and this is obvious to see if you travel to St. Georges when cruise ships are in port.
It's probably best to avoid this, of course, unless you've travelled to Grenada to see sunburnt, white, middle-class people from the United States and Western Europe.
Fishing is not a strong economic force in Grenada, although is popular in some towns; particularly in Gouyave, St. Johns, where I spent the majority of my two weeks on the island.
This photos is part of my HDR Tour of Grenada.
