Fighters 1 of 10
Here are some of the shots I consider highlights from the event, the whole gallery, with several images per each fight can be found here : riccardomantero.smugmug.com/Milano-in-the-Cage-2014
Sport and fast action photography aren't exactly my kind of photography really far away from my comfort zone, but I like challenges, a lot. Then, not without concerns, I have accepted the assignment to be one of the official photographers of the international event "Milano In The Cage 2014", one of those with unlimited access to the ring and to the backstage. The sport, based on fighting with mixed martial arts is really hard and spectacular, and offers to a photographer fascinated by any anthropologic manifestation, some interesting opportunities. In the whole human history, fighting has always been considered as a fundamental and dominating part of being human, and, like in this case if well regulated and really fair played, has been a really interesting and stimulating experience. Thanks to the BTF (www.borntofight.biz) organization for the trust and for giving me this opportunity. It was the first time I was shooting such kind of subjects and activity but I think that overall the result isn't bad.
