Simplicity 1943 4727 Drunken Muskrat
This is actually a wearable--I hope--muslin for the Fourth of July Dress, which I began on July 1 and then discovered was so badly drafted that the bodice needed a total overhaul.

This version is tan gingham. I bought the fabric at Wal-Mart for $2.50 a yard but, after I washed and ironed it, I discovered that it was much nicer than it felt at the store. It's almost like cotton sheeting. I decided it was worth trying to make this into a real dress instead of a slapdash test run, so it's getting white rick-rack trim and my usual seam finishes, etc.
