The 2011 Skills and Human Capital Summit
The 2011 Skills and Human Capital Summit convened under the timely theme of Getting Europe Back to Work: How Skills and Human Capital Can Accelerate Growth and Innovation. Andreas Schleicher, special adviser on education policy to the secretary-general and head of the indicators and analysis division at the directorate for education in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), delivered the keynote. The conference also saw major presentations from the World Bank, the European Commission, the Lisbon Council and the Government of Poland (currently holding the European Union's rotating presidency).
