"Happy Halloween" :)
It probably doesn't look like it but this is a macro of a black metal pumpkin. I put parchment paper behind the cutout face so the battery operated flame didn't stand out. I just changed the color from yellow to red in my canon editing tool.
The metal pumpkin candle holder is 3" x 2 3/4". I cropped it down a little to only show the face of it. The face in the photo is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2".
I put the tiny pumpkin with a tea light candle inside on the hardwood floor of the bedroom which was completely dark (thanks to room darkening shades). I had focused on the face of the pumpkin when all of a sudden my camera went out of focus... or so I thought. I opened my left eye just in time to see Elijah putting his face over the candle. I touched his back end to get him to move before he burnt himself and apparently scared him to death. He jumped two feet up in the air and spun around to run out of the room knocking the candle/holder towards the bed. I was barely able to grab it before it went underneath!! I set my camera down and retrieved a battery operated candle. Yes, I know... I should have shut the door so the cats could not get to the candle in the first place. I have no excuse other than I was a moron... only for about ten minutes though. :)
This photo is for the group Macro Monday's and this week the theme is "Trick or Treat". 👻
