Stairway To Nowhere

This staircase will probably soon be history. This used to be the staircase for the north bound trains of the Long Island Railroad's Manhattan Beach Line. The station closed in the 1920s after the Sheepsjead Bay Race Track closed. Now it appears that the MTA is going to be demolishing these staircases as part of their Neck Raod Station revitalizatioin project. They should have put the moneyt to better use, like keeping bus routes running all night in neighborhod that have no subway service.
