Dogwoods - Sequoia National Park

Best in Lightbox

Wallpaper Size

High atop California's Sierra Nevada mountains, nestled and sheltered by the

largest trees on earth, the delicate Dogwoods bloom. Early spring moisture

from Pacific is lifted skyward by the massive peaks turning in to towering

thunderstorms. Mist forms and moves quickly in and out of the Giant Sequoia

forest and the snow melts from all but the highest peaks. The dense rain

forest protects the large dogwood blooms which pass quickly as summer

approaches. Most will visit during the burning summer months but the real

magic occurs during inclement weather.
