Ribbons in the Fog - Golden Gate Bridge, California
Ribbons of steel run though the fog of San Francisco Bay. Standing on the jetty in front of Ft. Baker it was getting late and I was wrapping things up when the fog began to cover the southern tower. The sunlight had all but left and I was down to my last few shots but couldn't bring myself to leave. The fog continued to change the view from minute to minute and it seemed that the next shot could be the one I came for. Above me, I could see flashes from cameras taking pictures from the observation deck but other than a few sea lions I had the jetty to myself. If you're a visitor to San Francisco looking to photograph the bridge I recommend you consider trying Ft. Baker's jetty just below the bridge on the northern side. It's seldom crowded and somewhat sheltered from the wind when compared to the other vantage points.
