Although I work near Ground Zero, I tend to stay away from it. This isn't true of all New Yorkers - no one thing is ever true of all New Yorkers - but I think it's fairly common. Tonight, shooting the Tribute in Light memorial, I feel odd tracing the streets around the construction site. It's like visiting a place where you used to spend a lot of time, and finding you don't know the new bartenders (and, worse, that they don't know you).
The buildings rise from the broken plot at last. This is 4 World Trade Center (I think), rising spare and high into the night, a windowed companion to the twin beams.
