E Pluribus Duo
By the time I make it down to the source of the Tribute in Light, I've been walking and shooting for a couple of hours. I'm tired, hungry, scattered, and marked by the passage of memories. Also, my camera battery is edging on empty - there's really just time to shoot a few frames and then head home.
The lights, which look so singular from the distance, are two sets of floodlights on the roof of a parking garage by the entrance to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, a few blocks south of Ground Zero. They've been placed there for the last couple of years. Funding for the annual memorial is only established through 2008.
