Lincoln's Racing Santas

    Newer Older

Today in Lincoln, with Christmas almost upon us, a mass of Santa's (is that the right collective term) took part in Santa's 5k Run to raise funds for two local charities, 'The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and St Barnabas Hospice. The race started and finished in the Square in front of Lincoln Castle and passed through local streets and by Lincoln Cathedral.

That's a great idea. I'm surprised it hasn't been copied elsewhere. Maybe nobody wants to see how far the idea could go. There are places in this country, for example, that would tend to put a comic spin on the race. They'd raise funds most certainly, but Santa would never be perceived in quite the same way again!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks for viewing and commenting Bill. appreciated. Santa Runs are becoming quite common in the UK to raise money for charities. I did not realise just how common until I did a Google searched to see if the amount raised had been posted anywhere (which I didn't find).

Happy New Year to you and yours.
