Gardens, Gunby Hall, Lincolnshire

    Newer Older

Gunby Hall has extensive grounds and gardens enclosed by old brick walls filled with traditional English flowers, fruit and vegetables and herbs. Some of the gardens have, over the years, been usurped with less need existing for them to produce their original crops but they are now gradually being restored to their original state. Gunby Hall is owned by The National Trust.

This looks like a great place to visit. Love the colours and the wildness of the garden, though it's obviously well kept..

Lovely colours and composition, Brian. A couple of our rambling friends have recently returned from a NT working party week here. Spoke to one of the chaps and he really enjoyed it there. Think they were apple picking amongst other things !

Thanks Dennis. We had intended to go again this year but somehow it has slipped by on our schedule, limited opening means that you can't just call in when passing (unless it's the right day). It was late in the season when we called last year and we did buy some produce.

Sorry to intrude but I wonder whether you might like to consider adding this and any other similar pictures to the Walled Gardens Group please? It would be really super-doops if you could, especially this one. Thanks in advance.
