Hexagon Park for Moda Bake Shop

    Newer Older

So here is my Moda Bake Shop quilt. At midnight CST 12 Feb, it goes online at Moda Bake Shop:
and I would be really happy if my flickr friends would go and visit it there and maybe leave an extravagantly generous comment - if you don't like it, don't worry, just lie, I won't know the difference.
And I'm giving away a Sherbet Pips layer cake so you can make one of these on my blog from Sunday 13 Feb:

I'd love to go to quilt market but there's no way I can justify that kind of money on me - with four kids, holiday money gets shared six ways! Mandy may well go though and Mandy and I talk of going together one day (maybe when our kids have left home!). Will you be going?

And thank you for the lovely compliments on the quilt and compliments back to you on the fabrics - there seems to be a real buzz around them.

Oh my goodness Lynne, this is just insane. I love it! LOVE. I agree with Aneela, the frames around each hexagon totally make them pop and make each seem like they are being featured. And is that concentric circles quilting on each hexagon? If so I think its brilliant! I was lucky enough to snag a FQ pack of Pips about 2 months ago, and wasn't sure what to do with it, but this is definitely the answer!!

Thanks so much for sending me the picture - you are like a walking/talking/cardi wearing quilting inspiration to me and I love seeing everything that you create! Makes me want to skip out of work early and go home so I can sew more!

Thank you so much Bry - I would so love it if you made this quilt - with FQs you could make a huge one!!! Let me know if you try it and get stuck or lost - often things are clear in my head but I'm not a very good explainer! And thank you for being so enthusiastic about it - it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Hi! So nice to meet you! I look forward to perusing your stuff here! I love this quilt! I have been collecting kid's fabrics for years to make two hexagon I Spy quilts for my two kids. They are now 14 and 12! I like this look a lot and might use those collected already! Thanks for the opportunity for the giveaway! I really like Aneela's new line!

I LOVE the idea of this as an i-spy quilt - that had never occurred to me. If you do make it, please come back and let me know. I'd be thrilled.
