6 February 2008 Day 121

I just noticed that our tubing is really different. Since the Sure-T and the Silhouette come with the same kind of tubing, I didn't know there were differences.

Mine seems more transparent, softer and more pliable, and smoother. It also seems like the diameter is smaller. The other tubing feels rougher to me and appears to have little lines on it. I think the texture would not be great next to my skin. Of course, I do have extremely sensitive skin. Just another reason for me to be glad that there are so many choices.

I've noticed different sets have different tubing. So far I've used Cleos, Comforts, Rapid-Ds, and UltraFlex. I think I like the Cloe tubing best - but that's also the set I started out using so I might just be biased. :)

I've also noticed that even with the same sets (for me Insets) from one box to another the tubing texture/look can be completely different.

yep, i've been ordering the same kind for a while and i just got a major change in tubing texture. it's kinda funny. :)

I've been using Silhouettes for 2 years and I've never noticed any differences in the tubing between lots. The tubing did annoy me when I first switched from Quick-Sets. The QS tubing coiled up more and it was easier to tuck away. The Sil tubing is long & straight. I wish they'd make tubing like the cord on an older telephone handset that coils tightly but stretches easily when pulled.

The picture looks like "dueling pumps".

I thought the tubing was different, but all the local people I asked didn't feel the change in texture like I did. I thought I was just weird.

I can feel it! Also, it's not shiny.

Since posting my first comment above, I have gotten sets with the different tubing. It's immediately noticeable. For awhile when my BGs were running high I was convinced it was the tubing, but using an old piece (of the smooth, shiny, non-cloudy kind) I had didn't help.
