Sunset on Mars for Opportunity
This is basically a tribute image to NASA's Opportunity rover, made from an actual image captured by Opportunity on Oct. 10, 2017 of a sunset behind the crest of a hill along the rim of Endeavour Crater. I placed a silhouette of the rover made from a rendering created by JPL onto the crest of the hill. It's not actual size or even color (the original image was monochrome only) but to me it gives a nice image of the rover, now permanently silent, watching over the expanse of its target site of Endeavour Crater. Watching silently, and waiting for us to visit one day.
Well done, Oppy.
