Alex and How I Became a 'Taco Slut'
Alex was standing in line waiting for his tacos at Flash Taco when we were out doing a little street shooting in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.
After getting into a Nikon Vs. iPhone camera duel with him...
and I must say that even though he was clearly 'outgunned' that he knew how to handle that iPhone camera and he earned my respect as an adversary.
After our little 'photographic standoff' Alex sat down and ate some tacos with us.
He said that he was from Russia.
I told him about my adventure taking the Trans-Siberian train journey from one end of The Soviet Union to the other in 1990.
We talked a lot about the Russian people and the changes that have gone down since then.
Alex seemed like a really cool guy.
He gave off a friendly vibe and he had this really intersting 'aura.'
Alex moved here from Leningrad in 1991.
He tried finding work here as a photographer at first and he found that difficult.
Now Alex works with computers.
It was a beautiful night out and he was sporting a leather riding jacket and carrying his motorcycle helmet.
What a sweet night for a ride.
It was nice meeting you Alex.
We talked so much I only ate one of my tacos.
I put the other one in the pocket of my jeans to eat later.
It was all wrapped up good in aluminum foil.
I was really tired when I got home and I fell asleep as soon as I laid down.
Still in my clothes.
With a taco in my pocket.
That my friends is a first.
The first time I've ever slept with a taco.
And I kinda liked it.
I feel like a such a 'taco slut.'
