Bossman Goes Down!

Walking down Michigan Avenue on Sunday among all of the shoppers I noticed this woman standing on the sidewalk with a man who I'd tried to photograph a little earlier...

the man had on a furry hat...

and when I went to shoot him he 'gave me the hand.'

I just wanted to get some shots of people in the furry hats...

I wasn't out to start anything.

What I figured out was that the man was kind of 'the boss' of these ladies in the fur coats...

I think he owned or worked for a store that sells them.

Some of the girls were handing out flyers...

others just stood there lookin' all furry.

I realized that Bossman was worried about 'anti fur' activists mostly and he didn't want any pictures taken...

but...

him and his ladies were on my sidewalk.

You know where this argument's going.

So did Bossman.

I was wearin' a leather jacket when I took the shot... which makes me just as guilty so I'm not gonna say much about the fur debate...

except somebody prolly barbequed up the animal that was wearin' my jacket... before it was a jacket...

so maybe what the people who dig fur coats should do just to appease the gods of karma is to barbecue up and eat the animals that their jackets came from.

Barbecuing makes everything taste good.

Marinating makes everything really tender...

and shooting street all day makes me really hungry.

Mink fajitas anyone?

I dunno...

maybe there's a way to make everone happy?

That's just my solution to the whole debate.

Really I just wanted to take a picture of this girl in her fuzzy hat.

Bossman was not likin' the idea.

Not at all.

He was a fiesty one though...

and one guy he tried to get in the store said his wife was an animal activist...

Bossman said 'then whatchoo need to do is buy her a mink coat.'

The guy just shook his head and left.

I homed in on this girl and I let her know I was gonna take her picture...

Bossman tried to intercede...

but at eight frames per second he was just too slow.

He knew better than to grab me or my gear and I walked away with the shots.

I could see the look of defeat in Bossman's eyes.

The girl was diggin' the action and she'd have let me shoot all I wanted.
