34.365 - the "money" tree

The Pachira, also known as the "money tree", is another symbol of good luck and fortune for Chinese New Year.

The name "money tree" comes from a story where a poor man prayed for money, found this "odd" plant, took it home as an omen, and made money selling plants grown from its seeds.

What I love about this story is that money doesn't come from trees. It really comes from working hard to earn it. This tree is a reminder for me that as stressful as some days can be, I am grateful to be able to wake up each day, and have the health and ability to work and support my family.

PS - I entered the Epiphanie Camera Bags Picture It photo contest.
