Lucerne Baselstrasse 'ghetto': Tamil shop
While older shops in Lucerne's Baselstrasse, for example the Spanish bookstore, did say to everybody (in the official language of the region) what the shop is all about, recently opened shops evidently address only customers from a specific immigrant culture. Language barriers are not only put up against the native Swiss population but against some 20 different other groups of immigrants as well. This might have serious negative consequences as it will not boost cosmopolitanism but rather ghetto structures. There are more promising examples of integration.
