Fire melts ice

Yesterday there was a row of yellow crocus like this, springing out of the melting snow. After taking some photos, I went back outside about a half an hour later to take more, and all the snow had melted from around the flowers. It was not particularly warm yesterday, but the sun has some strength now.

Taken while kneeling with a hand-held camera and a cat rubbing on my elbow. Would of liked it crisper, but loved the way the crocus are sprouting out of the snow and bits of sticks and leaves from last year's garden.
