The kid on the right looks like he's ready to do something else.

I love that someone knows enough about cars to tag this one with what kind of car this is. Very cool.

It is a Model A Ford . They were manufactured from 1928 to 1931. I guess the Dodge WC Series it the truck in the background.

You know, they still have these festivals every September! They talk about it on PieTown.com! I would love to attend one someday!

I agree with pleroma's note, I bet that the dirt on the top of the car is the product of the little boy who appears to be in trouble, and that the eldest woman is probably trying to get some of it out of the mother(?)s hair. I suppose it's true that a picture says a thousand words!

The sedan in the foreground is not a Model A Ford.

I agree that it's not a Model A. But what is it?

    I think it's a 1931 Chevrolet sedan.

I zoomed in on the label on the boy's overalls.

The old woman has her hand on the top frame of the open car door; she's not picking dirt out of the younger woman's hair. If you look at the car, there is dirt all over it, on the rocker panels and the headlamps as well. The boy does look sullen, though; maybe he's mad about having to stand around while the women chit chat.
