• I for one, feel that this word is grossly underused these days. The world would probably be a better place or something if the youths would start using words like mirthquake, meaning "entertainment that excites convulsive laughter." Because quite frankly, word mirthquake brings me much mirth. - Rufflefeather

    The World of Mirth was a 50-car railroad carnival that traveled the Eastern Seaboard from 1933 to 1963. It employed 470 people.

    Hi it was nice to see the picture of the World of Mirth ..My mom worked for the World of Mirth and I can remember going into the elephant tents and all they had were chains around their ankles and I can remember how hughe they were and that we were able to feed them hay,,They were like big dogs to us..harmless.Till this day I want an elephant ha ha.Thanks
