      The surname is spelled correctly on the photograph and incorrectly on the header. This man is Alfred Buser, captain of the undefeated 1912 University of Wisconsin football team. You can read more about him in my blog post about this photograph.

      The image says 11-5-11 which looks like the date of the image. November 1911 makes sense - it was his final season as a player when he was the team captain. He became a Wisconsin director of athletics after graduating in 1912. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_L._Buser
