The scene makes me think of a location possibly in Hawaii, because of the structure and barren soil, obvious temperature in the air and the wind...Hawaiian trades, summertime or early September before the weather commits to larger surf and moisture builds up again. Additionally the crossover of cultures, Hakama and Keiko gi with Boat Hats...then the sticks and especially the one held by the middle man...it may be the exposure but it appears to be a boken, the other stick a rattan or bamboo tango...and though the shot is staged both men have their weapons leading...not exactly on the fighting line but near enough...both gedan position...a very difficult position to enter against.
