Confession: I am not a fan of Valentine's Day.
When we were newlyweds, my husband and I tried to celebrate it. We went out for dinner. We waited hours and then everything was so rushed, so crowded, the food was not even good. Not romantic at all. At least not in my book. He paid a ridiculous amount of money to have flowers delivered at my office, once I never got them, one other time they were dead. Finally one year we said, what's the point, really? I mean, who says we have to celebrate it? I love when I receive flowers and tokens of affection on random days (that is like the bestest) or on our anniversary, birthdays. Days that have meaning for us, not when Hallmark says so. I mean no disrespect to the people that love Valentine's Day, honestly. It's just not my cup of tea.
This evening I will cook dinner for my family, we will eat together and there won't be presents, flowers or fanfare. But there will be LOVE and in that spirit I wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day ♥
