Berlin U Bahn

U bahn is the underground ( mostly ) rapid transport train system in Berlin and it is very fast, frequent , clean and safe. The Berlin underground (U-Bahn) is one of the most modern systems in all of Europe and the most extensive public transport network of its type in Germany.

Its nine lines extend a total of 151.7 kilometres, and serve 170 stations.

The Berlin underground system is used by more than one million people every day. Every year, its trains carry 400 million passengers. It accounts for roughly half of the transport volume provided by the BVG. The rest are carried on the S Bahn ( Street Cars or trams) and buses.

Almost everywhere in Berlin can be reached easily by U Bahn and a tourist ticket is available for 72 hrs allowing unlimited access to the U Bahn, S Bahn and Bus system, making the various sights easily reached.
