Sky Victorian, modular house

Newer Older

From the parlor you can see the entire sky!

Inspired by Victorian architecture popularized during the reign of Queen Victoria in England, the Sky Victorian pays homage to this elegant style featuring ornate trim, an 'Italianate' Victorian type roof and a bold blue color in tribute to the “painted ladies” of the earlier 20th Century. Large windows embellish the lower and upper parlor and the door above the waterfall staircase is a majestic Greek revival style entrance to welcome guests! Add this grand home to other modular buildings like Café Corner, Green Grocer and Fire Brigade, and you have an instant vintage neighborhood within your Lego City!

Yep, there is interior, mostly tile floors...any ideas for furniture?

Well, I believe there are a couple LEGO Furniture groups out there, and I would recommend browsing through those... Judging by the(apparent) size of the lower floor, I think a Victorian style couch and a Gramophone would be about right, along with a small staircase to the upper floor. I'm not too sure about the upstairs though... Maybe a small bed?

But don't take theses suggestions if there won't be any interior photos!!! ;-)

Even if there is no interior shots, this is superb ! I particularly love the colours (it's rare to see blue houses, even in lego) and the decorative shapes of the front door are great.

This is one of those things that makes me feel like that I wish I did that, could have that, and want that at the same time. I think it's bricktabulous!

Colour-selection, construction, detailing... This has it all.

Seeing this made me continue on my (slow paced) Civilian Modular Project.

Thanks for all the feedback! This is looking pretty good in my city layout and so I have been thinking of a making a few copies (in other colors too) for those that would like one. PM me if you think you may be interested.

Where can I buy this set?

    Just kiddin! Love it!

  13. notenoughbricks 52 months ago | reply

Apparently you can buy this "set" on ebay for about $300! I was searching for the most expensive LEGO on ebay and this came up on like the 4th page or so. I recognized it from flickr and was surprised the creator was willing to part with such an awesome creation.

^LOL! You can't grow if you don't let go! And the garage is full of my custom sets. Someone else should enjoy them the way I do!

Your LEGO CC styled MOCs are some of the best I've seen. I recognized this as yours the second I saw it on ebay but I was shocked, absolutely shocked to see you were selling it!

I guess I understand what you are saying about running out of room. My LEGO space is shrinking as well and forcing me to sell sets but I don't know if I can part with a favorite MOC. heck, I haven't taken apart some of the MOCs I am proudest of.

To each their own. You are a very talented builder and whoever ends up purchasing this MOC from you will be very happy. Hopefully they don't claim that they are the creators of the Sky Victorian!

^Thanks man! First law of government spending: Always build two! This was the most fun MOC i've ever designed, I wish I could build a 1000 it was just that awesome!
