The Mozia Tree

Mozia (also called Motya or Mothia) was an ancient Phoenician town built on the small island of San Panataleo not too far from Marsala (Sicily). Starting from the 8th century BC Mozia has been one of the most important settlements in the Mediterranean Sea area. Nowadays it is possible to visit its excavations.

I took this shot nearby the Kothon, a sacred basin built on the southern tip of the island.
