Hey kids! Always brush your teeth 3 times a day or you'll need to...

You will have to open your mouth widely for almost an hour to perform a root canal treatment.

P.S. The dentist said that this is the only bad tooth I have, he thinks I have a great smile....And I think he was drunk LOL

BTW kids...Drinking is bad too, you need those brain cells :Pp~

Well...I guess It's got out of control :(

Currently I am in the "wise" mood...That;'s why I decided to share something with kids; I wonder If I am a good influence :+

i did some root canal treatments on natural extracted teeth in the pre-clinical lab last semester. I was lost in the first weeks, then i leared the techniques gradually. in the end, the procedures overall are fun for now. it gets hard when the canals curve alot and bifurcates. the dentist cleans the canals with hand rotatory instruments. we use sodium hypochlorite (chlorux) and patients dont know that. it is the only way to get rid of the bacteria residing in the pulp and the canals. after than he uses rubbery material shapes like cones to fill the canal till the junction between the crown and the root. he places a temporary material above. then the patient MUST come within days to get a better restoration. REMEMBER the temporary does't last long, if it was lost or leakage occured, the tooth would be in deep trouble. because there is so much tooth stucture was lost during preparing the tooth for the root canal therapy. in most cases, a metal crown is indicated to be placed on the crown so it supports the tooth and protects from fracture. dont say gold crown is ewww (esthetically unpleasent). u should think about the life of ur tooth. if the tooth broke cuz it had a regular filling, there is big chance they extract the tooth as the only solution. there a space results between 2 teeth. this cause drifting of those teeth onto the space. then the problems get more severe. if u want fill this empty space, u need a bridge, which will scarifice the adjacent teeth. as the dentist will cut them both and place crowns on them, it means the gold surface will be bigger and there is BIGGER chance when u smile it will show and ppl notice it. if u dont want bridge, there is a cleaner way which is implant, they drill the bone and place an artificial tooth with a metal root. but this treatment is costly.

That's so dentish of ya =D
I am afraid that ur dentist missed the last 3 mm of ur thooth's canal. Prof Saunders will go mad on me if i did such a thing. He believes that the prognosis of that tooth will be very low. y3nii within years u ll have to re-do it again ( I ll be there stand by if u want )
the aim of that procedure is to clean the entire canal leaving 0.5 just before the apex of the root. in ur case almost 3 mm left ( not even clean or shaped )
That would be really problem if the tooth itself had ( periapical periodontistis) an inflammation around the tooth's apex , as the causative agent ' bacteria ' not fully removed
bs if it was nt bothering u b4 commencing the treatment , i should be fine... bs as i said u ll have to replace it again n both cases, w go through that long procedure.
LoL, that was my opinion based what i have been taught @ our dental school, others may disagree with me, bs I believe my Uni is the 2nd best n UK =D
    yalla ur hands on 100 K.D for this consultation ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p
If u cant offer it ask EL09000L to pay them as he advised me to u ;p
w Abraaaj mashallah 7aaaf6' el manhaaj 7ef6' .... well done bro kafeet w wafeeet .... bs bsharooo is the thickest guy n flickr , 2Q9 my hands if he understood a single word min elii u wrote it ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p
    bshaaaar cheer up =D

Man.. i really agree with Smart Dr.. this tooth is not fully cleaned n obturated! *Under filling* as Smart Said.. that the canal must be cleaned leaving 0.5 mm or 1 mm as a maximum before the apex! but in this case.. u have to follow up ur Dr.. to check the periapical area for any complications.. and inshalah there is nothing wrong :)

    best wishes

Great shot, I guess I have no idea what it should look like, but I knew immediately the long portion shooting down from one tooth was out of place!

Anyway, I used this shot on a page I put together about power dental flossers. I included a credit to you of course, and linked back to this page. Thanks for posting it under CC license.
  • Bashar Al-Ba'noon 5y

You are welcome, I am happy to help...Just out of curiousity, may i have a link to your post?
  • pepplerchristine 5y

Sure, you can find it at Power Flosser.

The credits are at the bottom of that short page. Thanks again!
